Going more sustainable together at ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference.
We have taken measures to make the ILRC /CLRC 2024 more environmentally friendly- .
Sustainability is an integral part of DLR’s activities.

For this reason, we decided that sustainability is also an integral part of the ILRC/ CLRC2024 conference overall event concept.
The focus is currently not on achieving climate neutrality for all of the events organised by the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.) - the focus is actually
on making all our events more sustainable step by step and learning from experience and feedback what works and should be used more widely in the future!
As host of the ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference our goal is therefore to make the best use of all resources and
to create an ILRC /CLRC 2024 conference that is more sustainable and, including harmonizing ecological, economic and social aspects
in the design of the ILRC/CLRC2024. We try to keep the impact of this international conference on the environment within justifiable limits
and implementing as many sustainable measures as possible.
Sustainable event management ILRC/CLRC 2024
In order to implement ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference in a sustainable manner, we analyzed and optimized environmental, financial and social impacts in advance along the
entire value chain for this conference, the German Aerospace eventmanagement support team is appropriately trained in event-specific sustainability,
and advises and supports the organizer of the ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference in order to implement as many sustainable measures as possible for this conference.
Every event produces CO2 emissions, for example through energy consumption on site or the travel and catering of the participants.
Therefore, we first of all try to reduce the ecological footprint of the event itself.
Our approach to implementing a sustainable ILRC/CLRC 2024 conference:
Before the conference:
- Identification of the sustainability-relevant fields of action for the ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference.
- Determination of the relevance of the respective fields of action for the
ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference and evaluation, i.e. which field of action has or causes the most negative impacts. - Determination of the best possible measures to optimize the field of action (always in relation to before, during and after the event).
- We orientate ourselves along the guidelines on Sustainable Event Organisation of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) for the entire sustainable planning and implementation of this event
- We will communicate the sustainability aspects of the ILRC/ CLRC 2024 in the pre-event, main event and after-event phase via the website ILRC/CLRC
After the ILRC/ CLRC 2024 conference:
- we will calculate the CO2 emissions by using a special CO2 calculator provided by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety
and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and communicate these results via the website of the ILRC/ CLRC 2024.
What you as a participant can do
We suggest buying a flight ticket with free CO2 compensation. All calculators allow passengers to estimate the emissions attributed to their air travel. They are simple to use and require only a limited amount of information from the user. You are welcome to give us your feedback after the event. Your feedback will help us to continuously improve the sustainable conference planning and organization
